1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using safafrica.org (the "Site") or any service offered through it — including registering for NUFIC, making a donation, submitting a partnership enquiry, or subscribing to updates — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. About SAF Africa
Science Ambassadors Foundation ("SAF Africa") is a registered not-for-profit organisation based in Nigeria with a mission to empower Africa through STEM training, innovation, and opportunity. We deliver programmes including the National University Food Innovation Challenge (NUFIC), MyLife MySkill, Tech for Her, Green Builders Lab, STEM Training & Bootcamps, and general outreach.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to enter into these Terms, make a donation, or register as an adult participant. Younger participants may take part in SAF programmes only through a participating school, university, or with explicit parent or guardian consent.
4. Accounts and registration
Some features — such as NUFIC registration or donation tracking — require you to submit accurate information. You agree to:
- Provide truthful, current, and complete information.
- Update your details if they change.
- Keep any access credentials (for example, admin or partner portal logins) confidential and not share them with third parties.
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your details or account.
5. Acceptable use
When using the Site, you must not:
- Use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
- Submit false donation claims, forged receipts, or impersonate another person or institution.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, admin panel, or accounts.
- Introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
- Scrape, crawl, or mirror the Site beyond normal browsing, or use automated tools to overload our servers.
- Infringe intellectual-property rights, including SAF's and those of third parties.
- Post content that is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
6. Donations
Donations to SAF Africa campaigns are currently processed by direct bank transfer. After you submit the donation form, you will receive bank-transfer instructions and a unique reference. Once you upload your proof of payment, our finance team verifies the transfer and updates the campaign's raised total.
- All amounts are in Nigerian Naira (NGN) unless stated otherwise.
- Donations are voluntary and non-refundable except where required by law or where SAF accepts, in its sole discretion, that a donation was made in error.
- SAF issues an email acknowledgement and a receipt upon verification. Tax treatment depends on your jurisdiction; SAF is not a tax adviser.
- Corporate giving and institutional partnerships may be subject to a separate written agreement.
7. NUFIC & events
Registration for NUFIC 2026 and any other SAF event is subject to the programme details published on this Site, including eligibility, participation categories, judging criteria, prize terms, and code of conduct. SAF reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to:
- Modify the programme, schedule, venue, or prize structure.
- Accept or decline any registration, or remove a participant for breach of the event code of conduct.
- Cancel or postpone the event in response to force majeure, regulatory guidance, health risks, or any other reasonable cause.
All judging and award decisions made by SAF and its appointed panel are final. By participating, you consent to being photographed and filmed for SAF's programme records, reporting, and promotional use.
8. Intellectual property
The Site, its design, text, graphics, logos, the "SAF" and "NUFIC" marks, and all underlying code are owned by SAF Africa or our licensors and are protected by Nigerian and international copyright and trademark laws. You may view, download, and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Any other use — including reproduction, modification, or redistribution — requires our prior written permission.
9. Content you submit
When you submit content to SAF Africa — a message, testimonial, application, pitch deck, or product description — you retain ownership but grant SAF a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, and share that content for the purpose of running and promoting our programmes. You warrant that you have the right to grant this licence and that your content does not infringe the rights of any third party.
10. Third-party links
The Site may link to external websites operated by partners, sponsors, or independent organisations. SAF is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those sites. Linking is not an endorsement.
11. Disclaimer
The Site and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SAF Africa disclaims all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Information on the Site is for general information only and does not constitute professional, financial, legal, or medical advice.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SAF Africa, its trustees, officers, staff, volunteers, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss arising out of your use of the Site or any programme — including lost profits, lost data, or reputational harm. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold SAF Africa harmless against any claim, loss, or expense arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your infringement of any third-party right.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or any service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, or if continued access poses a risk to SAF, our programmes, or other users.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, except where Nigerian law requires otherwise.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page always reflects the current version.
